Annual leave by law
Under Article 53 of Turkish Labour Law No. 4857, you earn annual paid leave once you have worked at least one year from your first day, probation included. It grows with your service:
| 1 to 5 years (5 included) | 14 days |
|---|---|
| More than 5, less than 15 years | 20 days |
| 15 years or more | 26 days |
- Employees aged 18 or under, or 50 or over, get at least 20 days.
- Underground work adds 4 days.
- Weekly rest days and public holidays that fall within the leave don’t count as leave.
- If both sides agree, leave can be split; one part must be at least 10 days.
- These are minimums; a contract or collective agreement can give more.
